Nicole Haines - Aspiring Web Developer

In 2012 I quit my job and focused all of my attention on “becoming a web developer”. 4 years, 2 full time courses and 55k student debt later, I still felt abysmally overwhelmed and terrified by the gaps in my knowledge.

I knew what I wanted to do but I had no idea how to do it. The myriad of buzz words, frameworks, information and options had me feeling like I was lost in a remote foreign country where no one spoke the same language as each other, let alone the language I was trying to speak to find my own way around!

As a result, I dabbled here and there, barely scratching the surface of available options because I didn't understand how it pieced together. It just didn't make sense to me. I focused on what I felt comfortable doing to “get by” but I lost my passion.

I was frustrated and disappointed. Whenever anyone would “oooh” or “ahhh” when I told them what I do (or more realistically, what my college qualification claimed I could do), I felt like a schmuck and a con artist because I’d never really managed to make sense of the vast information and options that encumber the Front End, Back End or Full Stack development world.

Bill, THANK YOU.

Thank you for breathing new life into what I set out to do all those years ago.

Thank you for providing me a roadmap that will help me out of my current “funk”.

And THANK YOU for the time you spend, creating incredible content that literally has the ability to impact how I (now) see my future in development.

Thank you!!
